Know what is being used.
Microneedling uses fine needles to create controlled punctures in the skin. Some devices are FDA-authorized for specific scar and wrinkle indications. That authorization does not extend automatically to every treatment area or added product.
The FDA has not approved microneedling devices for delivering cosmetics, drugs or other products into skin. Ask about the device and the proposed combination. Scalp-service availability should not be interpreted as a promise of hair regrowth.
Plan for recovery.
Redness, sensitivity, bleeding and peeling can occur. Recovery varies with the treatment and your skin. Chelsea can discuss whether your skin history, medications, current irritation or recent procedures affect suitability.
